Alpseestrasse 21, Schwangau
Down-to-earth, rustic and cosy: at Schloss Braustuberl with the Alpseestube and the associated beer garden you can experience the romance of the Allgau Alps up close. Here you dine simply - but well! Because the Bavarian way of life comes to us in the form of authentic pub cuisine on the table. Meat, sausage and cheese specialities come from butchers and cheese dairies in the region and are best to be enjoyed with a freshly tapped beer from the Konig Ludwig brewery. Depending on the season, you can sit in our spacious, cosy parlour or under the trees in our sunny beer garden - always with a view of the Alpine panorama and the Ludwig castles. In short: Schloss Braustuberl is the perfect starting point for your hike or for a stop after your descent from Schloss Neuschwanstein.
Typical tourist trap. Average food at high prices. Obviously geared towards mass processing. Today, however, remarkably unfriendly “service” (hopefully just a snapshot).
Went around the lake with 2 children, as this was the first brewery we went there. It had just opened so it was pretty empty. The choice of drinks is very limited, there were hardly any hot drinks and the coffee was expensive, small and not really tasty.
The decor is very attractive and has a typical "Bavarian tourism-oriented" effect. Unfortunately, you can't say that about food for such high prices. Of course you are near the most famous castles in the world, so you know that it will cost more. We had spaetzle with hash onions € 12 and a turkey schnitzel with french fries € 16, both of which were definitely not worth the money. The schnitzel breading and hash brown onions were industrial goods, but I'm not sure about the meat and spaetzle. The waiters were friendly and very attentive.
Service underground, bad food. Example: yeast dumplings that I couldn't cut with a spoon. The waiter did not apologize or make an offer to make amends. Better go a few meters further to the Alpenrose ...
We had a fantastic time here when visiting before bloody COVID-19 kicked in. Winter 2019. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed the hearty food and beer here. And the service was excellent. The gentleman that served us was making us laugh the whole time and everything came out in a timely manner.
Bad, unfriendly, unprofessional service, the tone was rough. Plates were cleared away several times, reaching over our shoulder, although we weren't all finished yet. This is service training in the first year of apprenticeship and does not work at all! (The room was barely occupied, there was no need to rush). The dishes were, in part, inedible: bread dumplings, greenish, hard and firm, without recognizing a piece of bread, with frozen wobble mushrooms in sauce. The spaetzle is overcooked, the breading of the Jägerschnitzel (pork or poultry?) Is completely softened. The advertised "market vegetables" came from the freezer counter and not from the market. Only the Reiberdatschi and the salad plate were okay. And all at rich, unjustified prices. It's a shame, so much would be possible in this situation! As it is, it's just embarrassing for the many foreign visitors!
Just not eating well. Schnitzel, spaetzle sauerkraut to wean yourself off. Pity!
Food was good, portion too small for the price. When asked by the head waiter whether it was good, we said yes but portion too little. A mega unfriendly answer. He did not accept tips because of comments. When as a local you are no longer allowed to express your opinion in a friendly manner. Coffee was sore. Ambience very uncomfortable. It was cold and pulled because all the doors were open despite the cold weather. You had to eat with your jacket on. Toilets wasn't clean. No trace of Bavarian cosiness and friendliness.
Outstanding food Super Service
At first glance, the ambience seems very nice with the view of Hohenschwangau Castle. However, requests regarding tables are not implemented. Otherwise, the service is very attentive. Unfortunately, the food is not recommended. Ate a roast pork. The food was cold, the dumplings inside were still "raw" and the coleslaw wasn't homemade either. Price-performance ratio is unfortunately not recommended!
Food was awful. It tasted like supermarket dumplings, not cooked properly. The sauce and roast pork were warm to Kai and also tasted like nothing. And all for 17.50 € cheek!
Great view of Hohenschwangau. Pleasant coworkers. Food came extremely quickly and was very tasty. We can only recommend it for us.
Immediately when you came in, the service was turned on rudely. Hello or other greetings were not given. After that it didn't get any better. Actually wanted to eat a little something, but now there's a beer and bye. Apparently belongs to the Amaron. If they are just as nice then I already know exactly where I never book.
Friendly staff, food was quickly at the table. Good home-style cuisine with the right price-performance ratio. Gladly again.
A nice place to stay, with a view of Hohenschwangau Castle. Food was very tasty, only the many wasps were annoying.
Very, very bad service. Rude to the point of no longer possible. The food was absolutely not adequate for the price. 17.50 for lukewarm roast pork and 12.50 for a small portion of cheese spaetzle that didn't even start to taste. Complete failure. Absolutely not recommended. 0 stars!
Unfortunately we were very disappointed. High prices for really small portions with average taste. The service was unfortunately quite unfriendly. Wouldn't eat there anymore.
Quaint, delicious beer, well organized, unfortunately no card payment possible
The relationship between price and quality, as well as service-orientation is not correct at all. 0 stars would be appropriate.
We were looking for a place for lunch and this place was the most reasonable price-wise. The building was really interesting looking and it looked like they had a Biergarten. As it was winter, the dining area wasn't set up. We didn't have a reservation and didn't have to wait too long at the bench before getting a table. The interior of the restaurant was quite nice with lots of portraits all around the building. The long benches were set on the middle and side with columns in between. I also quite liked the beer stein display on the table by the entrance. The food, however, was really disappointing. The meals were the cheapest around the area but the portions were smaller than the other places we've been to. The spaetzle was also very stodgy. After you ate the fried onions it didn't have any flavour. The bright side was that there was a fairly large serving of the spaetzle. The place was nice enough and considering the location it was alright. It just wasn't as nice as the other places we had tried.
Food is SO nasty! Can't believe I paid money for this rubbish! ??
Just don't come here.
Okay. Cash only.
Amazing place
It was lovely eating out in picturesque Alp see
Terrible place. Portions were very small especially for the meatball. We were told we couldn’t get a snitzel for an adult as that’s only for kids, even though it costs the same as other dishes. The meatballs and the salad were terrible, frozen and the mashed potato was instant. The only gluten free option they had was salad leaves with some sauce. The garden is full of bees, and the waiters are not helpful at all. The waitress had her partner arrive with a dog who she hugged and pet and then went on serving food. Also no card payments accepted.
A little pricey but since the location is understandable, just below the Hohenschwangau castle
Super cheap for the place about 10€ for a main course and a beer. Actually cheaper than snacks outside. Food is ok, you get what you pay for, don't expect to much.
Food was nothing special and waiters here are so rude
Waiter has a big attitude
Not bad as expected. The stewed pork dish which weiter has recommended and Allgäu vegetable plate were good!
Minus three stars for no card payment, mediocre food and sarcastic comment from service guy
Best restaurant around.
Food was excellent and service was quick and friendly. Loved the beer-hall style inside. Definitely recommend!
Took them half an hour to serve the second dish and it wasn't crowded. Food quality is ok.
A small but fine selection of Bavarian delicacies. The price-performance ratio is absolutely appropriate. Tasty draft beer is of course also offered. The friendly staff brings the ordered dishes and drinks relatively quickly.
Lovely traditional breakfast. Our large group was easily accommodated. Danke!
I stopped in here with my boyfriend before visiting the castles in the area. The service was quick and the menu was a decent size for lunch. The beer was good and food was pretty good. It's a nice stop in the middle of the day!
Caution! Hotel is under massive construction so its very ugly. But you can still order lunch in their gravel seating area. Overpriced hotdogs; recommend walking a little further to the Alpenstuben restaurant.
Convenient little spot to eat. I loved the cucumber salad and Radler!
Very nice pork knuckle, Leberkase, sausages and good price at this tourists area. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Food and beer was good. Staff was friendly. But 2 stars less for taking no credit cards. No go, especially in a touristic area.
Schlecht!!! The food tasted like s**t! I'll never try it again. All the food came from the shop, and was just simply heated. Even if it's not a big problem, why put so much acid? It won't be the last choice for me, because I will definitely not walk into this restaurant again! What's more, the service here was also s**t! It's not venting emotions. This is really what I have been through! 千万别来!太难吃了!
Nice environment, good food and services ???
Very good soup and beer. Moderate prices. There is a big hall for rent and party.
